Following up from her ‘Birds’ EP, BLANCAh has once again extended her skills and delivered yet another well rounded release. Titled ‘Soturno’, this all original three track EP reflects BLANCAh’s versatility and strong sense for self-expression. In its entirety, ‘Soturno’ will touch the furthest corners of your mind and embrace every curve of your soul.

The title track ‘Soturno’ certainly wastes no time and immediately ushers you toward a one way excursion of intensity. Eerie synths, ghastly bass lines and sneering high hats carve out the depths of this track, yet it also embellishes some rather quirky soundscapes and obscurities, all of which highlight BLANCAh’s own love for all things weird and wonderful.

Riding in upon a myriad of percussion and bold drum layers, is the EP’s second track ‘Arestas’. Accompanied with flurries of contemplative piano chords and a surging urgency, this track generates an extremely powerful energy. ‘Arestas’ can best be described as a musical treasure chest, overflowing with an abundance of hidden beauty.

‘Ode a Um Corpo Imperfeito’ is the icing on the cake for ‘Soturno’ and plays a key role in transforming this EP into a masterstroke of self-reflection and artistry. Possessing clean basslines and an array of simple yet profound percussive elements, this tracks vibe seems to march and meander with a mighty presence, skulking with a severity that adds life to every chord, beat and thrum.
